With reference to Colonial Office letter No.
13792/33 of the 19th May last and to previous correspon-
dence on the subject of the establishment of a Flying
Training School in Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Air
Council to state, for the information of Secretary Sir
Philip Cunliffe-Lister, that after careful reconsideration
of the question they are pleased to find themselves able
to withdraw their objection to the proposed use of Kai
Tak Aerodrome as a Flying Training School by the Far East
Aviation Company.
The Air Council regard it as essential, however,
that Service requirements should be adequately safeguarded.
and to this end they propose that the use of the aerodrome
by the Far East Aviation Company should be controlled by
the Civil Aerodrome Superintendent under the direction of
the Officer Commanding, Royal Air Force Base, Kai Tak, who
